Kickstart Your Next Journey To "Kooshoo"
31 Mar 2014

The last day of March and--con los dedos cruzados--the last of the snow for the North East.
Really, we get it, Mother Nature.
As I sit dreaming of warmer days, I came across some photos of Norfolk Island, a beautiful little island in the South Pacific off the coasts of Australia and New Zealand. Ever been? Better yet---wanna go?
That's where my latest travel wear find comes in. It's called Kooshoo, and its founders have been hard at work producing consciously-made pieces for those of us on the go. Their star accessory is the Journey Shawl, a multi-wear travel item designed to fit every body type and can be worn in 12 different ways. It's made of organic sustainably-harvested Eucalyptus fiber and then dyed by hand in LA at the world's ONLY solar-powered dye house.

Yes, please!
I had the pleasure of chatting a bit with Rachel, one of the co-founders of the brand. She wasn't kidding when she said the Journey Shawl was taking travel-friendly accessories to another level. "We're currently on a 5 month trip and we've been using the Journey Shawl in every conceivable situation." She said. "It's been great."
A versatile, trendy piece created by an ethically operated company that reduces waste and gives some of its profit to charity? And I thought the no-pull organic cotton Lila hairties that I got were legit. Sounds pretty great it to me!

The word kooshoo is Norfolk Island lingo for "feeling good," and you've got just a little over 2 days to help these gals achieve their goal. Though your new eco-friendly item won't be here in time for Earth Day, you'll definitely be feeling good as you give back to Ms. Nature and you'll be part of a super-cool project to boot.
